About the Program: General Educational Development (GED) tests are a group of four subject tests which, when passed, provide certification that the test taker has American or Canadian high school-level academic skills.The GED Testing Service is a joint venture of the American Council on Education. Pearson is the sole developer for the GED test. The test is taken on a computer and in person. States and jurisdictions award a Certificate of High School Equivalency or similarly titled credential to persons who meet the passing score requirements.

This program is designed for high school dropouts, who can finish their high school by giving the exams privately. This program also helps them to prepare for their exams for increasing the success rate.

Salary: Best in the Industry/Negotiable. (Between 1,500,000 to 1,800,000 Thai Bhat per annum)

Location: This opportunity is for “Work from Home”. The candidate should be based in Bangkok.

Work Permit: The candidate should have valid work permit/VISA to work in Thailand.

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving expansion and growth of the GED (General Educational Development) Testing program in Thailand.

This role will provide local experience and context, and help develop and execute a plan to grow volumes by:-

1) Defining key countries for growth and corresponding strategies for success,
2) Improving visibility of the GED testing program with key stakeholders including MOE (Ministry of Education) and higher-ed institutions,
3) Finding new test preparation and delivery partners to increase points-of- presence in country, and
4) Actively managing marketing initiatives to increase student awareness,registrations, and graduates.

This position will report into the VP of Business Development for GED Testing Service.

Skills and qualifications needed:
1) 8-10 years of business development/sales experience in APAC region
2) Entrepreneurial experience, launching new products
3) Familiarity and experience with education market
4) Skilled communicator with strong English skills

1.) Identify key growth countries and develop plans to expand business growth-
a. Work with GEDTS team and existing partner channels to understand key drivers of GED program acceptance and important channel fundamentals to help drive volume
b. Develop overall business plans to support expansion of the GED testing program in each of they recommended countries

2.) Improve visibility of GED testing program with key stakeholders
a. Sales calls to MOE and higher-education institutions to share benefits of the GED testing program
b. Develop partnerships with higher-ed to increase acceptance of the GED test

3.) Increase points of presence
a. Help develop a channel strategy that will increase points of delivery, while maintaining strong control over IP and security
b. Increase the number of training partners that are preparing students for the GED test
c. Support and manage the training partner channel – provide tools,resources and business development support to expand their business

4.) Increase student awareness, registrations and graduates
a. Support local partners with marketing plans and resources to increase student awareness of the GED testing program
b. Help implement student research plans to understand student motivations and outcomes to better tailor the GED testing product to their needs.
