Johan van Duijn is an experienced Purchasing Manager with a strong background in managing Procurement teams.  He has over 20 years experience in the purchasing, sourcing and contracting domains, the last 4 years being in Asia.  Having also worked in the United States he has a proven experience in dealing with people from different cultural backgrounds.  He is motivated by the achievement of results and is currently looking for a new challenge.

WORK EXPERIENCE

 

General Manager                  Finbus Services Ltd – Hong Kong

Dec 2012 to present               Working upon request of European customers, most of them active in the fixed line and mobile telecom markets, acting as local sourcing and purchasing representative.  Activities include, but are not limited to, supplier sourcing and organize factory visits, perform factory audits with focus on technical, financial and CSR areas, report drafting and startup of NDA and contractual negotiations once approval is received from customer.  The job requires frequent travel to China, Indonesia, South Korea, Malaysia and Thailand.

 

Contract Manager                One Axcess Ltd – Hong Kong

Feb 2012 to Nov 2012           This is an all-round function requiring cross-functional follow up with internal and external partners to ensure deadlines are met, requirements can be signed off and results are delivered in accordance with requirements and budget constraints.  Project tracking within the company with Operations, Finance and Compliance teams.  Manage vendor relationships, drive their  Support development and negotiation of contracts performance and suggest cost saving measures. Oversee, draft and review business contracts (eg SLA’s, MOU’s, NDA’s, brokerage agreements) and other legal documentation.  Manage the contract administration: database and follow-up for renewals and revision.

Jun 2011 to Nov 2011            Manage contract scope, service level compliance and commercialmatters as per contractual agreements. Support development and negotiation of contracts with detailed pricing levels, scope of work and service levels. Manage supplier performance using established corporate framework and drive continuous improvements and cost saving initiatives to maximize the value achieved from the service suppliers. Manage contract renewal by working with the different key stakeholders to ensure new Cathay Pacific requirements are incorporated. Support bench-marking exercise to ensure service levels and costs are competitive.

Aug 2010 to Nov 2010           This was a 3-month consultancy contract prior to moving to Hong Kong.  Promoting the role of the Procurement department within the organization, showing the added value of early involvement and clear procedures. Assisting the Head of Procurement in setting up the processes and procedures.  Assisting the buyers in various projects covering different spent portfolios (Professional Services, Marketing, Merchandising…)

Aug 2007- May 2010             Responsible for the “Facilities & Premises” departments.  Follow-up of all maintenance contracts for SWIFT HQ and Operation Centers (OPC) in Europe and the Far-East.  Experience in negotiating with local service providers and suppliers.

Assisting departmental heads in major projects such as the extension of OPC-Netherlands and OPC-Hong Kong, the construction of a new OPC in Switzerland and start-up of the SWIFT offices in Mumbai, Dubai and Tokyo.
