St. George’s University (SGU), located in Grenada, West Indies, was founded as an independent School of Medicine (SOM) in 1976 and has grown into a major university and a leading centre of international education. Its professors, students, and graduates include individuals from 140 countries.  The SOM is dedicated to developing outstanding physicians and has over 16,000 Doctor of Medicine graduates.  St. George’s University’s School of Medicine is the third largest source of licensed physicians in the US healthcare system.  Currently, there are more than 18,000 SGU alumni practicing medicine, veterinary medicine, public health, business and other professions in over 50 countries across the globe.  St. George’s is the largest English-speaking medical school in the world.


The Role 

Due to the growth of international student numbers, St George’s University want to appoint an Executive Director, International Marketing and Communications.

This role will report to the Chief Marketing and Enrollment Operations Officer and is responsible for development and deployment of consumer engagement and communication strategies, tools, and execution primarily across, Asia, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.  This position will ensure alignment and synergy between the Home Office based senior management team and our recruiting and operations colleagues based outside of North America and the Caribbean.

The overarching goal is to turn business strategy and priorities into compelling student (and parent) engagement, leading to quality volume growth and ROI on the investments made in people, tools, and media platforms.

This is a hands-on marketing strategist who must be able to balance strategic planning with day-to-day execution as well as build and maintain strong relationships with senior leaders around the world while able to lead, teach and inspire with our department colleagues.  The outcomes of this position and their reports will drive quality volume, create efficiencies through synergistic creative development, continuously find monetary efficiencies through intelligent purchasing of effective media, create content that can be deployed across campuses, and ensure all people across the enterprise are maintaining creative integrity.
