King’s College International School Bangkok is growing quickly in preparation for an August 2020 opening for children aged 2-11. We are now looking for an ICT and AV technician to work with the school community. We believe in treating each other with kindness
and good manners at all times. Due to the mixed nature of our community, the ICT and AV technician will need to speak, read and write both Thai and English to a good standard, be very well organised and have a passion for customer service.
Responsible for installing and maintaining computer hardware, software and networks. Provides hardware and software maintenance, training and consultation, and recommendations about future planning and development of resources. Providing these services in
an effective and efficient manner will ensure maximum access to and implementation of technology services and resources. Diagnose computer problems, monitor computer processing systems and perform tests on computer equipment and programs. Set up computer equipment,
schedule maintenance and teach clients to use programs. Other duties may include minor repairs and computer parts ordering. Maintain all AV equipment and set them up as requested for school use.
Duties and Responsibilities
Upkeep and maintain school network systems and servers.
Ensure technology is accessible and equipped with current hardware and software.
Troubleshoot hardware, software and network operating systems.
Be familiar with the school’s hardware, software and network operating system.
Provide orientation for new users of existing technology.
Train staff in the use of and improvement in the use of existing technology.
Train staff in the use and potential use of new technology.
Provide individual training and support upon request.
Provide recommendations and support around accessing information.
Maintain current and accurate inventories of technology hardware, software and resources.
Monitor and maintain technology to ensure maximum access for the school’s primary activities.
Troubleshoot all technology issues.
Make recommendations around the purchase of technology resources.
Research current and potential resources and services.
Provide network access to all staff and students.
Maintain a log and/or list of required repairs and maintenance.
Install work stations.
Connect and set up hardware.
Implement all required software.
Provide network accounts and passwords as required.
Monitor the security of all technology.
Install and maintain passwords and password security software.
Input and maintain IP addresses.
Advise staff of any security breaches, changes in passwords or security statuses.
Ensure the installation of lockout programs.
Identify and prepare hardware for disposal when appropriate.
Ensure hardware is stripped and secured before disposal.
Maintain the school’s AV equipment.
Set up equipment as per event orders.
Set up a preventative maintenance plan for AV equipment and source providers for purchasing and maintenance.
Attend school meetings.
Attend school seminars, retreats, activities and training.
