Job Responsibility
1. Project Work; creating engineered solutions in response to customer requirements and internal optimization projects, typically involving warehouse design, transport design, and/or supply
chain (re)design.
a. Responsible for projects to develop solutions in response to customer requirements for warehousing and transportation.
b. Understanding the solution design process (design, costing, risk mitigation, proposal, and sign-off) and presents solution to internal senior management and the clients.
c. Defines and agrees the scope and timing of the proposal with the client
d. Conducts business requirement workshops, aligns with operations and IT on the proposed solution.
e. Work well with Solution Design Engineers in the detailed development of solutions.
f. Prepares business proposals (internal approvals and customer documentation), identifies and mitigates risks (both operationally and commercially), and ensures compliance of all submissions
to RHENUS business rules.
g. Develops skills and capabilities of solutions design engineers.
h. Supports the BD team by attending sales calls to promote RHENUS’s contract logistics capabilities and influencing the customers’ decision making.
i. Works with contract managers to identify growth opportunities, leveraging our core capabilities.
j. Leads internal improvement projects.
Job Specifications
1. Education & Qualifications; a. Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering; or a related
field preferred; or equivalent combination with related work experience
2. Experience;
a. 3 – 5 years’ experience in (preferably) logistics and supply chain, related consulting, and/or manufacturing where a detailed knowledge of warehousing and transportation has been obtained.
b. Project management experience is a must as well as people management experience.
3. Specialist Knowledge & Skills;
a. Project management, warehousing, transportation, supply chain design, industrial engineering and manufacturing.
b. Ability to see the “Big Picture” and quickly reach an understanding of client’s business requirements.
c. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
d. Able to evaluate technical solutions, their commercial impact and risks.
e. Commercial understanding of CL contracts.
f. Strong working knowledge of MS office, specifically Excel, Visio and PowerPoint.
g. Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
4. Interpersonal & Communication Skills;
a. Able and willing to lead a multi-disciplinary team and have the ambition to develop team members and other colleagues.
b. Can-do mentality and positive attitude.
c. Excellent written and oral communication skills including the ability to persuade, influence, negotiate, and make formal presentations in meetings and training environments.
d. Strong ability to work with stakeholders at all levels of the business and customer organizations
5. Desirable Attributes;
a. Experience in working as a team with 3PL logistics environment
b. Integrated supply chain knowledge of both Freight, Warehousing and Transport.
